What an invoice should include
An invoice requests payment for goods supplied or work completed. For a Ghanaian freelancer, a clear document helps the client identify the job, approve the amount and know when to pay. Keep a copy alongside your agreement and payment records. Check your own tax obligations rather than treating a template as tax advice.
- Your business name, address, contact details and TIN where applicable.
- The client’s name and contact information, so the right person receives the bill.
- A unique invoice number, issue date and agreed payment due date.
- Itemised services or products with quantities, unit prices and any discount.
- VAT, NHIL and GETFund on separate lines when you're VAT-registered, plus the final total in the chosen currency.
- MoMo or bank payment details and any agreed payment terms.
How to create one with Sikabill
- Choose Invoice and enter your business and client details. Check the number and dates against your records.
- Add each item, quantity and price. If you're VAT-registered, switch on the toggle to show VAT, NHIL and GETFund on separate lines — every rate is editable, and you can add any custom levy.
- Check the live preview, add payment instructions and download the A4 PDF. Send a WhatsApp reminder with the amount and due date, and save the document after signing in.
Sample invoice
Illustrative example: a VAT-registered designer bills a local shop for two poster designs, with VAT, NHIL and GETFund on separate lines. The sample shows the calculation only; it does not establish whether you must register or charge these taxes. Replace every example detail with your own.
